Surface Layout Commands
The Surface Layout tab offers a variety of commands. These involve mostly routing definition; some facility edition options are available, as well as several display commands.
Routing Definition Commands
- Creating connections between facilities: Click-and-drag the color arrow from an out connector of the source facility to the target facility. If the target facility has a connector that can accept the fluid you are trying to route, a color line will appear indicating that the connections has been created. See Connectors and Connections.
- Splitting streams: You can split an existing stream and route part of it to another facility by repeating the above procedure with an out connector that already has a defined connection. See Split Streams.
Right-clicking on an existing connection offers the following options:
- Include pipeline costs and construction time: (Also Pipeline button). Turn a simple connection into a pipeline and vice versa, which allows detailed definition of construction costs and time. See Pipelines.
- Edit connection: Edit the properties of the selected connection. This includes construction costs and time for pipelines, and optional capacities for each branch of a split stream. See Pipelines and Split Streams.
